Condemning the act in strong terms, BASA called on security agencies to intensify efforts in combating banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality across the country.
“The loss of General Abubakar is a national tragedy that underscores the urgent need to strengthen our security architecture. We cannot continue to allow criminal elements to operate with impunity. The Oyo South PDP senatorial candidate further drew attention to recent abduction cases in Oyo State, particularly the kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Ogbomosho. She appealed to both the state and federal governments to take urgent and decisive action to ensure their rescue.
“The safety of our children and educators must remain a top priority. Government at all levels must act swiftly to secure the release of the abducted pupils and teachers in Ogbomosho. Schools should be safe environments for learning and development, not places of fear and uncertainty,” BASA said.
She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening security through improved funding of security agencies, enhanced intelligence gathering, community-based policing, and legislative measures that will guarantee the protection of lives and property across Oyo State and Nigeria.
