2026 Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day: BASA Celebrates Yoruba Heritage, Urges Cultural Preservation
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi–Aliyu (BASA), has extended warm felicitations to adherents of African Traditional Religion across Oyo State, Nigeria, and beyond on the occasion of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day.

BASA described Ìṣẹ̀ṣe as a significant celebration of Yoruba history, traditions, spirituality and indigenous values preserved and passed down through generations. She noted that the festival provides an opportunity for people to reconnect with their roots and appreciate the cultural heritage that continues to shape Yoruba identity.
“Ìṣẹ̀ṣe remains an important expression of our heritage and identity. As we celebrate, let us honour our traditions, appreciate our history and preserve the values handed down to us by our forebears. I wish all celebrants a peaceful, meaningful and spiritually enriching celebration,” she said.
The PDP senatorial candidate also called for greater efforts to preserve and promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, while encouraging mutual respect, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths, beliefs and cultural traditions. BASA wished all Ìṣẹ̀ṣe celebrants a joyful and memorable celebration.
