In a Democracy Day message made available to journalists, BASA described the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s democratic journey and renew collective commitment to nation-building.
While congratulating Nigerians on the celebration, the former governorship candidate expressed concern over the plight of families whose loved ones remain in captivity, particularly the families of recently abducted children in Oyo State.
According to her, for many affected families, the period is marked not by celebration but by anxiety, pain, and uncertainty.

BASA noted that the true dividends of democracy extend beyond elections and political participation, stressing that citizens must also enjoy safety, security, and the freedom to pursue their aspirations without fear.

She called for prayers for all kidnapped victims across the country and expressed hope for their safe return, while also praying for strength for their families and those working towards their rescue.
The PDP chieftain further urged Nigerians to continue working together toward building a nation where freedom is meaningful, security is guaranteed, and every citizen can live with dignity and hope.

She concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration.
