The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Constitution Review Committee, submitting tis report to the party leadership, reiterated the need to strengthen internal democracy, transparency, and accountability in the party.
ADC National Chairman, David Mark, represented by the National Legal Adviser, Professor Oserihenmen Osunbor, reiterated that the review of the constitution must reflect current realities.
He described the party’s constitution as the soul of its collective aspirations, saying that the exercise was not routine but a careful process requiring inclusiveness, foresight, and broad consultation across stakeholders.
Mark assured that the National Working Committee, NWC, would thoroughly examine the recommendations in line with the party’s core values of fairness, justice, and equity. He urged members to remain disciplined and committed to the party’s rules.
Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, Etigwe Uwa, SAN, said the report captured key reforms, including affirmative action proposals for women, youths, and persons with disabilities, as well as new structures to strengthen internal dispute resolution and adapt to emerging political realities.
