“For every vision, there is an appointed time.”

Hon. Wale Ajala is a committed grassroots politician, community leader and progressive-minded stakeholder from Ona-Ara Local Government, whose life, upbringing and political journey reflect a deep connection with the people he seeks to serve. An original son of Ona-Ara, Hon. Ajala has resided in the local government since 1982 and has remained closely connected to its communities, people and institutions.
His educational journey began at IDC Olunloyo, where he studied from 1986 to 1991, before proceeding to Muslim Grammar School, where he completed his secondary education between 1992 and 1997. His roots run deep in Ona-Ara, particularly through his father’s family in Lapanpa, where he spent his childhood holidays and grew up surrounded by the values of community, family and responsibility. His family’s home is located at Plot 4, Ire-Akari Street, Ariyo, while the family is also known as Omo Ile Aderogba ni Labiran, with their ancestral home facing the mosque within the compound.
The Ajala family has a notable history of community service. His father served as Chairman of the Landlords’ Association for over 20 years and also served as Secretary of the Landlords General Association in Olunloyo during the tenure of Baba Olasode. These experiences undoubtedly shaped Hon. Wale Ajala’s understanding of community leadership, grassroots engagement and the importance of service to the people.

Beyond politics, Hon. Ajala has built a life connected to education, community and service. He has worked at Tunmise Children School, Akanfe, Promise Foundation, Oke-Imole, and Hope in Omi, the Iya Kola branch of Ogunnaike Poultry. He is also associated with Christ the Rock Church, Basorun Olunloyo, further demonstrating his longstanding connection with community life.
Politically, Hon. Wale Ajala has consistently demonstrated ambition, loyalty, organisation and grassroots mobilisation. He was a House of Assembly Aspirant in 2019 and 2023, served as Governor’s Campaign Security Committee Team Lead for Ona-Ara LG in 2019, and was also Secretary of the Governor’s Campaign Security Committee for Oyo Central Senatorial District. In 2023, he served as Campaign Coordinator for the re-election of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and later became Chairman of the Transition Committee for Dr. Kolapo Temitope (GLORIOUS).

His leadership responsibilities also include serving as Secretary of the Governor Makinde’s Local Government Campaign Coordinators Forum. He was further recognised as the PDP Ona-Ara Local Government consensus candidate for the 2027 House of Assembly election, having received the endorsement of party leaders before subsequently moving to the APM in line with the direction of Engr. Seyi Makinde. These milestones reflect a political journey built on commitment, loyalty, strategic organisation and grassroots acceptance.
Today, Hon. Wale Ajala remains a consistent mobiliser, strategic organiser and progressive voice with strong connections across Ona-Ara. His story is one of patience, preparation and service. While the next chapter of his political journey may not yet be fully revealed, one thing remains certain: every genuine vision has an appointed time, and when that time comes, preparation will meet opportunity.
What next for Hon. Wale Ajala?
Only Almighty God knows the best. But whatever the future holds, his years of service, grassroots experience and commitment to the people have positioned him as a leader whose journey is still unfolding.
The vision is alive. The journey continues. The appointed time will come.
