The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has allegedly been coerced into signing a resignation letter, Peoples Gazette reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the incident took place on Friday, when Ojulari was reportedly confronted and pressured by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, and the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), Adeola Ajayi.
Sources familiar with the matter told Peoples Gazette that Ojulari was subjected to intense questioning regarding his alleged ties to Olatimbo Ayinde, a British-Nigerian oil executive who has recently gained significant influence within President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“Mr. Ojulari told us he had no knowledge of Olatimbo Ayinde,” one source, who requested anonymity, told the publication.

As of Saturday afternoon, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale had yet to respond to inquiries about the situation. Mr. Ojulari also did not reply to repeated requests for comment.
This development comes amid growing concerns within the NNPCL over alleged efforts to undermine the leadership of the state-owned oil company.
