The Federation of Ibadan Students Union (FIBSU National) has successfully elected a new set of executive leaders. The election took place on Saturday, 10th May 2025, at the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan.
Comrade Giwa Kamorudeen Olawale, a student of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abeokuta, emerged as the new President, securing 97 votes to defeat AbdulRasaq Lawal Junior, who polled 8 votes.
Comrade Adegbola Nurudeen Akeem was elected as Treasurer, while other executive positions were filled unopposed.
The election was conducted under the supervision of the Electoral Chairman, Aare Oyedeji Israel, a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
Egalitarian Voice Media correspondent, Dare Bukunmi, was present at the venue to witness and report on the electoral process, which was described as peaceful and well-organized.
