Former President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a strong message to President Bola Tinubu, state governors and other political leaders.
He posted it on his verified online handle on Thursday to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

He said Nigerians must face the pressing social and economic challenges by putting personal sacrifice, good governance, accountability and respect for the rule of law first.

Netizens Reactions
However, the comment section was on fire as many Nigerians refused to buy into Jonathan’s message and instead blamed him for the current hardship in the country. “You caused all we are facing now. You allowed Tinubu and Buhari to rig you out in 2015 when you had all the power to stop it,” one user wrote.

Another commented, “If you had fought for your mandate in 2015, we wouldn’t be suffering like this today. You handed us over to these people.” While some defended his peaceful concession as statesmanlike, many insisted that his decision to concede defeat in 2015 paved the way for the hardship Nigerians are facing today.
