Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a fresh prediction about the 2027 presidential election, warning that a victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could have far-reaching consequences for opposition politics in Nigeria.
Ayodele made the remarks while speaking about the political outlook ahead of the 2027 general elections. His comments were reported on September 24, 2026, following a video shared on his social media platforms.
According to the cleric, if Tinubu secures a second term, opposition politicians should expect what he described as a tougher political environment.
He further declared that a second-term victory for Tinubu would, in his prediction, mark the end of effective opposition politics in the country.
He was quoted as saying:
“If Tinubu wins second term, he will show you pepper. All of the opposition, you will not hear anything opposition in Nigeria again. That will be the end of opposition.”
“The victory of Tinubu is the end of opposition,” Ayodele was quoted as saying.
Ayodele also claimed that opposition politicians could face increased pressure after the 2027 election, alleging that the government could use institutions such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the courts against political opponents. These are the cleric’s claims and predictions, rather than facts.

Ayodele has made several other predictions concerning the 2027 election in recent months. In August, he said opposition parties would need to form a strong coalition if they hoped to challenge Tinubu effectively.
More recently, he predicted that Tinubu might not complete a second term if re-elected, suggesting that Vice-President Kashim Shettima could eventually take over. That prediction was also presented by Ayodele as a revelation rather than a statement based on established evidence.
