The African entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the deaths of two celebrated actresses, Wasila Isma’il and Beverly Afaglo, within 24 hours, Egalitarian Voice reports.

Veteran Kannywood actress, Wasila Isma’il, reportedly died at the age of 46 after battling a prolonged illness, while renowned Ghanaian actress and television personality, Beverly Afaglo, passed away at 42.
Wasila’s death was confirmed on Sunday by her former husband, Al-Amin Chiroma, who disclosed that the actress died at the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN) Hospital in Kaduna.

The late actress was widely recognised in the Hausa movie industry and gained prominence after featuring alongside Ali Nuhu in the popular movie Wasila.
She began her acting career in 1998 and rose to become one of the notable faces in Kannywood, starring in several successful Hausa films over the years.
Following the announcement of her death, fans, actors and filmmakers took to social media to pay glowing tributes to the actress, describing her as talented, humble and dedicated to the growth of the Hausa film industry.
Barely hours after the sad news of Wasila’s passing, another tragedy struck the Ghanaian entertainment scene as reports emerged that actress Beverly Afaglo had also died at the age of 42.

Her husband, popular musician Choirmaster, announced her death via Instagram. Although the cause of death was not officially disclosed, reports indicated that she had been ill for some time.

Beverly Afaglo was widely known for her contributions to movies, television and entrepreneurship. During her career, she featured in over fifty films and also established a successful shawarma business in Ghana.
Some of the movies she appeared in include Babylon, The Game and The Agency.
