•••••• Over 40 Students Receive Instant Financial Support at Ona-Ara Students’ Summit 2026 as Chairman Reaffirms Commitment to Education
The Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Dr. Kolapo Temitope-GLORIOUS, has announced the commencement of an annual bursary programme for students of Ona-Ara origin, while also pledging a ₦11 million scholarship package for the best-performing UTME students from the local government in 2027.
The Chairman made the announcement at the Ona-Ara Students’ Summit 2026, where he reiterated his commitment to supporting education and creating opportunities for young people across the local government.
Speaking at the summit, Dr. Kolapo Temitope-GLORIOUS disclosed that his commitment to students’ welfare and educational development was long-standing, noting that he had been providing bursary support to students in his school since 2012.
According to him, the initiative reflects his belief that financial challenges should not become a barrier to academic advancement for deserving students.

In a further demonstration of his commitment, over 40 students received instant monetary support during the summit.
The Ona-Ara Students’ Summit 2026, held under the theme “Empowering Students Through Education, Career Development, and Security Awareness,” brought together students, education stakeholders, community leaders and other prominent personalities to deliberate on issues affecting young people and their future.
The announcement of the annual bursary and the proposed ₦11 million 2027 UTME scholarship formed one of the major highlights of the event, drawing attention to the importance of sustained investment in education and youth development.

The Chairman of the Ona-Ara Students’ Union, Comrade Taiwo Adejare, appreciated the council chairman for his support and commitment to the students, while also acknowledging the contributions and presence of other distinguished personalities at the summit.
The Ona-Ara Students’ Summit 2026 further underscored the importance of education, career development and security awareness in preparing students to become productive contributors to the future of Ona-Ara and Oyo State.
