The All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) has expressed confidence that its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, will defeat the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, in the 2026 governorship election.

This position was made known by the Director-General of the party’s campaign organisation, Oluwole Oke, during the inauguration of more than 800 members of the campaign council on Wednesday.
Oke stated that the party had already commenced wide-ranging mobilisation across Osun State and was fully prepared for the electoral contest. He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious and insisted that efforts to unseat the incumbent governor would succeed.

He also criticised the current administration, alleging mismanagement of state resources and claiming that key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and mining were underperforming. According to him, public institutions in the state were not functioning effectively.
Oke further dismissed the government’s emphasis on salary payments, arguing that paying workers is a fundamental responsibility of any administration and should not be treated as an achievement. He maintained that residents of Osun State deserved improved governance and better living standards.
He added that the APC campaign structure was committed to addressing issues such as poverty, unemployment, and weak governance if elected into office, promising policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and restoring development in the state.
He said, “The incumbent is gone. His days in office are numbered. The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts.

“It is unfortunate that their constant refrain is salary payment, forgetting that workers deserve to be paid. That is not an achievement.
“We are experienced in unseating sitting governors. We will remove Adeleke before 10:00 p.m. on 15th August 2026. Bola Oyebamiji will win and be declared the duly elected governor of Osun State.”
