Says Support Extends Beyond Akara Sellers to Tomato, Maize, Vegetable Vendors and Other Small-Scale Women Entrepreneurs

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has declared that public criticism will not discourage her commitment to empowering women at the grassroots, reaffirming that her intervention targets a broad spectrum of petty traders—not just akara sellers.

Speaking during her visit to Jigawa State, the First Lady dismissed claims that her empowerment programme focuses solely on akara vendors, stressing that thousands of women engaged in various small-scale businesses are benefiting from the initiative.
