The Association of Oyo State Tutorial Owners (AOSTO) has unveiled a scholarship initiative designed to support academically outstanding but financially disadvantaged students across Oyo State, reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to higher education.

The announcement was made by the Governor of AOSTO, Mr. Oladipupo Olalekan, during his goodwill address at the celebration of exceptional UTME candidates organised by the Managing Director of First Class Pre-Varsity, Mr. Akeen Odebode (Prudence).
According to Oladipupo, the initiative was inspired by the remarkable achievement of Chukwu Victor, a financially vulnerable student who was recognised at the event for his outstanding academic performance.
Under the programme, 10 exceptional students from tutorial centres affiliated with AOSTO will be selected based on academic excellence and financial need. To qualify, candidates must have scored 300 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and be certified as financially vulnerable.

The AOSTO Governor clarified that the association would not directly fund the scholarships. Instead, it will leverage its institutional network to engage the Oyo State Ministry of Education, the Oyo State Scholarship Board, relevant youth-focused agencies, and well-meaning individuals with the financial capacity to sponsor the selected students.
