The Oyo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun has dismissed some operatives for varied act of gross indiscipline.
The development came after several investigations and finally a consensual decision by members of the Agency’s Board at a meeting held on 12th, April, 2023, chaired by the Chairman (Brig. General Kunle Togun Rtd.) The total number of dismissed operatives in the Agency were 25 operatives out of which only five (5) had formal education with Degrees/NCE in various disciplines.
Below is the summary of Statement of Offence of the Dismissed operatives:
★ Ona–Ara : Absence from Duty without Official Leave, (AWOL 3 months)
Insubordination, Disobedience to Particular Orders and refusal of posting instruction.

on three different seating) to ascertain circumstances surrounding
rustled cows at Oyo.

The essence of this brief is to place on record accurate information for members of the public on the malicious falsehood and misleading allegations intended to disparage the image of the Agency. The said publication tagged: “unprofessional plan to dismiss 50 of Oyo State Amotekun operatives especially those who can read and write (those who hold Ph.D., M.sc, B.sc, HND, NCE, OND, SSCE)” by the management team is filled with venom of hatred and outright falsehood.

The writer has again exhibited gross unprofessional ethics of his trade. It is important for the people to please verify information before going to press. The idea of feeding members of the public with falsehood with intent to curry their favour and discredit Amotekun in Oyo State will fail woefully as it was the case in the past.
The dismissal of the 25 indiscipline operatives was carried out to curb the growth of corrupt practices within the ranks of operatives of the Agency. Issues such as gross misconduct ranging from insubordination, truancy, extortion, bribery, fraudulent practices, theft, and unauthorised possession of illicit weapon contravened laid down rules and regulations of the Agency. It is no gain saying news that other security agencies also dismiss officers found wanting of act considered to be inimical to service discipline or that could bring disrepute to image of the Agency.

The Agency’s door is widely open to inquiries as we have nothing to hide. We are here to provide efficient services to the general public devoid of any encumbrances. Thank you.
