The Yoruba Youth Council (Oyo State Chapter), under the leadership of its State Chairman, Oladimeji Ibrahim Ayinla, has distributed palliative rice to members of the council as part of efforts to support their welfare and strengthen youth engagement across the state.
The distribution took place during the council’s State General Meeting held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Ibadan, where members gathered to deliberate on issues affecting the youth constituency and the continued development of the organisation.
The palliatives, provided through the Oyo State Government, were distributed to members as a gesture of support and an expression of the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of young people across the state.
Addressing members at the meeting, the State Chairman, Oladimeji Ibrahim Ayinla, called on youths to remain committed to personal and community development. He urged members to embrace responsibility, unity and constructive participation in initiatives aimed at advancing the interests of young people and their communities.
The Chairman also officially announced the 2026 edition of the Omoluabi Festival, scheduled to take place on October 29, 2026. He explained that the festival would provide an avenue to celebrate and promote Yoruba culture, values, identity and traditions, while encouraging meaningful youth participation and community development.
The Yoruba Youth Council expressed its appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his administration’s support and commitment to the welfare, empowerment and development of young people across the state.
The council also commended the Chairman, Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Prince Falana Adebowale, for his leadership, accessibility and continued support for the youth constituency.
The Yoruba Youth Council (Oyo State Chapter) reaffirmed its commitment to promoting youth development, cultural preservation, unity, responsible leadership and active citizenship, while contributing positively to the socio-economic development of Oyo State.
