Questions are emerging over the alleged failure of Sangodade Adeboye, popularly known as Boye Nation, to honour an invitation reportedly connected to the ongoing scrutiny of prepaid-meter contracts in Nigeria.
The development, which was highlighted in a post by Layipo Gangan on Facebook and sighted by Egalitarian Voice, also features claims that the Presidency has summoned the Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, to provide explanations regarding the reported expenditure of approximately ₦600 billion in the power sector.
According to the claims circulating on social media, the alleged invitation to Boye Nation and the reported presidential summons to the minister have raised questions about transparency and accountability in the management of public funds and prepaid-meter contracts.

However, the circumstances surrounding the alleged invitation, the reported refusal to honour it and the purported presidential summons have yet to be independently established.
The reported ₦600 billion expenditure has also not been independently verified, and no conclusion can be drawn regarding any individual’s involvement in possible financial irregularities.
Given the importance of the power sector to millions of Nigerians, the allegations have brought renewed attention to the need for transparency in public expenditure, particularly in the procurement and distribution of prepaid electricity meters.
Egalitarian Voice maintains that the allegations require proper verification and that all relevant parties should be given an opportunity to clarify their positions. Any investigation, if confirmed, should be guided by due process and supported by verifiable evidence.
