A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Aspirant for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi-Aliyu, popularly known as BASA, has reassured loyal members and supporters of the PDP in Oyo State that the party remains strong, united, and fully prepared for future political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement made available to newsmen, BASA appreciated party faithful who have remained committed to the PDP since its inception, acknowledging their sacrifices, dedication, and unwavering loyalty to the party over the years.
She stated that the PDP in Oyo State remains deeply rooted across all wards, local governments, and zones, stressing that the party continues to enjoy the trust and confidence of the people.
According to her, the PDP remains one of the strongest political parties in Nigeria with enduring structures, rich democratic history, and nationwide acceptance.
BASA also dismissed speculations surrounding any planned merger involving the PDP, maintaining that the party remains focused, independent, and committed to its core ideals and mission of delivering good governance and democratic dividends to Nigerians.
“The PDP is not merging with any political party. Our party remains strong, united, people-oriented, and committed to the aspirations of Nigerians. By the grace of God and the support of the people, PDP will be on the ballot and will continue to receive massive support in 2027,” she stated.
The PDP stalwart further commended the contributions and sacrifices of notable party leaders at the national level, particularly appreciating the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency Barrister Nyesom Wike, members of the National Executive Committee, Zonal Executives, and other stakeholders for their resilience and commitment towards sustaining the party through difficult periods.
Speaking on the party structure in Oyo State, BASA lauded the leadership of His Excellency, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi, describing his leadership style as one that promotes unity, inclusiveness, and grassroots participation within the PDP.
She equally appreciated State Executives, Local Government Executives, Ward Executives, party elders, women leaders, youth leaders, and all faithful members of the PDP in Oyo State for their steadfastness and efforts in keeping the party structure active and formidable across the state.
BASA expressed optimism that with continued unity and commitment among party members, the PDP would remain a dominant political force in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
“Together, we shall continue to build a stronger, more prosperous, and more inclusive Oyo State and Nigeria. PDP today, PDP tomorrow, PDP forever,” she added.
