Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi–Aliyu (BASA) extends her heartfelt congratulations to the newly inaugurated South-West Zonal Executives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following their formal swearing-in at the party’s stakeholders’ meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

BASA commends the National Secretary of the ADC, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for his exemplary leadership, strategic foresight, and unwavering commitment to rebuilding the party into a formidable, service-driven political movement. His vision to register at least 14 million committed members nationwide is bold, necessary, and reflective of the discipline required to offer Nigerians a credible alternative.

We particularly thank Ogbeni Aregbesola for his inclusive approach and for entrusting dedicated progressives with leadership responsibilities across the South-West. His directive to establish functional state structures within two weeks, alongside the proposed Grand Assembly of Genuine Progressives, demonstrates a clear roadmap toward grassroots mobilisation and institutional strength.
BASA also warmly welcomes the newly inaugurated National Vice Chairman (South-West), Akinbowale Omole, and all zonal and national officers from the region, including: Captain Tunji Shelle (National Director of Communications and Programmes); Prof. Bode Ayorinde (Diversity and Inclusion Secretary); Fabiyi Oladimeji (Deputy National Financial Secretary); Alhaja Kafilat Omolabake Olayiwola (Deputy National Women Leader); Arc. Bashir Aremu Lawal (Assistant National Secretary); Olufemi Adeleye (Deputy Coordinator, Diaspora); Lady Lydia Omarisola Olafunmiloye (Assistant National Women Leader, Zonal); Mrs. Elizabeth Adeola Olusi (Assistant National Youth Leader, Zonal); and Mrs. Yidiat Omolara Oseni (Assistant National Organising Secretary).
We are confident in their capacity to reposition the ADC across Yorubaland and beyond, and we stand ready to support their efforts in building a united, vibrant, and electorally competitive party.

In light of these developments, BASA hereby pledges its unwavering loyalty, support, and active participation in all ADC programmes, including the forthcoming nationwide membership registration exercise. We reaffirm our commitment to the party’s ideals of service, integrity, and progressive governance.
As we move forward, BASA calls on all like-minded progressives across the South-West and Nigeria to join hands with the ADC leadership in this historic mission to rescue and rebuild our nation.
