On behalf of the leadership and members of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Oyo State Chapter, we warmly felicitate the Government and the good people of Oyo State on the historic celebration of 50 years of the creation of our dear state.
Oyo State at 50 stands as a proud symbol of resilience, cultural heritage, political consciousness, and progressive governance. From its creation in 1976 to date, the state has remained a pacesetter in intellectual excellence, democratic engagement, and administrative leadership, producing men and women who have made remarkable contributions at both state and national levels.
As an umbrella youth organisation committed to advocacy, leadership development, and nation-building, we acknowledge the sacrifices and collective efforts of past leaders, traditional institutions, civil servants, community stakeholders, and citizens whose dedication has shaped Oyo State into what it is today.
We particularly appreciate the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for organizing a well-coordinated, befitting, and memorable Golden Jubilee celebration worthy of the rich history and status of Oyo State. The carefully planned activities reflect purposeful leadership, institutional pride, and a commitment to unity, inclusiveness, and progress, while rekindling a deep sense of belonging among the people of the state.
We commend the present administration for sustaining the vision of a united, secure, and economically viable Oyo State, while deepening democratic values and expanding opportunities for youth participation in governance and development.
At 50, Oyo State is not only celebrating years, but also experience, hard-earned lessons, resilience, and renewed hope for a greater future.
The Golden Jubilee is a moment for reflection, reconciliation, and recommitment to justice, equity, fairness, and people-centred leadership that truly serves the interest of all citizens, especially the youth who represent the future of the state.
We call on all stakeholders to rise above divisions and work collectively for sustainable development across all zones and local governments of Oyo State.
As Oyo State marches confidently into the next phase of its journey, the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Oyo State Chapter, reaffirms its unwavering commitment to constructive engagement, youth advocacy, leadership development, and support for policies and programmes that will strengthen governance and accelerate inclusive development.
