PDP increases salary for all officials, LG Chairmen, Others
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has approved significant salary increases for its elected officials, from ward to state level. The decision, led by Acting Chairman George Turnah and the State Working Caretaker Committee, follows a report highlighting the inadequacy of current earnings, especially at grassroots levels.
- New Monthly Salaries Include:
- LG Chairmen: ₦621,000
- LG Vice-Chairmen & Secretaries: ₦336,000
- Other LG Executives: ₦196,000
- Ward Chairmen: ₦336,000
- Ward Vice-Chairmen & Secretaries: ₦196,000
- Other Ward Executives (14 members): ₦120,000
- Senatorial District & Non-working State Committee Members: ₦621,000
- State Working Committee Members: ₦1,048,500
The payments are aligned with state political pay grades and are to begin immediately. The party also expressed confidence in national officers Chief Dan Osi Orbih and Senator Samuel Anyanwu for their leadership.
