2027: I Won’t Go Empty-Handed — Wike Sends Strong Warning to APC While Declaring Support for Tinubu

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, has declared that every member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) must support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Wike made the declaration during a stakeholders’ meeting in Rivers State, where he also sought the support of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s camp for the President.
According to the former Rivers Governor, the current political climate has become a competition among politicians to prove who can deliver the highest number of votes for Tinubu.
“There is something going on now, like a competition. Everybody wants to say, ‘Mr. President, we are the ones that made you to win, see the number of votes we brought, so Mr. President, this is what we brought, what is our own stake?’ That is the politics we are playing now. It’s Mr. President, we are here, look at us too,” Wike stated.
He insisted that the PDP must collapse its structure to ensure Tinubu’s victory.
“Everybody in PDP must support Mr. President, that’s what we are doing. Everybody will collapse and vote for Mr. President,” he said.
However, in a twist that has sparked reactions, Wike warned that his support for Tinubu at the presidential level does not translate to surrendering Rivers State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in other elections.
“But politics is local; we can’t allow them to take everything. I won’t go empty-handed,” he added.
