What Tinubu Told New Ministers During Inauguration

During the inauguration of the 45 confirmed ministers-designate on Monday at the Conference Centre of the State House, Abuja, President Bola Tinubu called upon the newly appointed ministers to work collaboratively with him and each other to fulfill the aspirations of the Nigerian people through their government roles.

Addressing the ministers, President Tinubu emphasized the collective responsibility they hold in steering the nation’s progress.
He stressed that despite his role as the leader, everyone is part of the journey, and they must mutually hold each other accountable for meeting the expectations of the citizens.

He reminded the ministers that their allegiance is not to a specific state, region, or ethnic group, but to the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria. President Tinubu highlighted the importance of teamwork, accountability, transparency, and integrity in their roles as ministers.

He underscored the significance of their appointment, stating that it’s both an honour and a significant responsibility to serve as ministers in the Federal Executive Council. President Tinubu expressed the high expectations of Nigerians for effective governance, and he urged the ministers to uphold these standards.
President Tinubu’s address was followed by the swearing-in of the ministers, who were assigned various portfolios. Notable appointees included Nyesom Wike as Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wale Edun as Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, and David Umahi as Minister of Works.
