In what residents and community stakeholders have described as a historic and unprecedented gesture, the Supervisory Councillor for Transport in Ona-Ara Local Government, Hon. Olalere Abolore Sekinat, has become the first Supervisory Councillor in the history of the council to personally execute and donate community development projects of such magnitude.
The borehole projects, designed to provide residents with sustainable access to clean and potable water, were commissioned and handed over to the people of Ayekale Community (Ward 9) and Agboluaje Area (Ward 11). The intervention has been widely applauded by beneficiaries and stakeholders, who described it as a landmark achievement that will significantly alleviate the persistent challenge of water scarcity in the affected communities.

Hon. Olalere Abolore Sekinat serves in the administration of the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Dr. Kolapo Temitope (Glorious). Stakeholders noted that the initiative complements the local government’s grassroots development agenda and demonstrates that public office can be used as a platform for impactful and people-oriented service.
Speaking with Egalitarian Voice during the commissioning of the projects, Hon. Olalere said her mission in public office is to serve the people with sincerity and leave behind enduring legacies that improve the quality of life of ordinary citizens.

She reaffirmed her commitment to initiating and supporting more developmental projects across Ona-Ara Local Government, while expressing profound appreciation to residents for their unwavering support, encouragement, and confidence in her leadership.
