The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo Central Senatorial District, Hon. Adewusi Adegbola Adeniyi, says Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi remains ahead of all governorship candidates in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Hon. Adewusi stated this in Ibadan on Monday in an interview with journalists.
According to him, Barrister Gbolarumi is a trained, tested and trusted politician who was politically groomed at Molete, the acknowledged political headquarters of Oyo State, under the tutelage of the late sage of Ibadan politics, High Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu.
“Barrister Gbolarumi is not a strange face in Oyo politics. He is a grassroots politician who understands the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Oyo State,” Adewusi said.
The Oyo Central PDP Chairman noted that Gbolarumi’s public service record is unblemished, having served as Secretary, Ibadan Municipal Government (IMG), State Secretary of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP), Deputy Governor of Oyo State, and Chairman, Governing Board of the Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti.
He described Gbolarumi as a master strategist, deep political thinker and loyal party man who possesses the requisite experience to provide purposeful leadership without learning on the job.
“Barrister Gbolarumi is a humane and compassionate politician. He will never tamper with local government funds. He firmly believes that local government allocations belong to the grassroots and has assured that he will release 100 percent allocation to all 33 local government areas in the state to accelerate grassroots development, while according top priority to the welfare of politicians and civil servants,” Adewusi added.
He reaffirmed that the entire PDP structure in Oyo Central Senatorial District is solidly behind Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi’s governorship ambition.
