……Says PDP is the only product they will market.
Oyo State Association of Food Sellers, Oyo central chapter, and the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria ACOMORAN, Coalition of Artisan and traders in Ona-Ara local governments, have declared their support and solidarity for candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Oyo Central Senatorial district Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka and other candidates of the party.
The traders pledged their support at a meeting held with the PDP candidate at Ona Ara local government area Wednesday. They promised to move from shop to shop, community to community, village to village, unit to units and ward to ward, to galvanise and mobilise the electorate to vote for the Ladilu of Oyo kingdom, Chief Bisi Ilaka.
While speaking on behalf of the food sellers, Alhaji Ismail Mustapha Kolawole Akomeji said that the PDP will be the only product they will market from now till 2023 in appreciation of Governor Seyi Makinde’s good governance, accelerated development initiatives and commitment to their well-being.
“Ladilu of Oyo is a man of his words, we believe that Oyo central will be well represented when he becomes the Senator, we will vote PDP down the line, 2023 will put end to our suffering, our votes will speak and it will be counted thereafter” he noted.
Alhaji Akomeji also used the medium to solicits for the empowerment of members from Chief Bisi Ilaka when he becomes the Senator adding that most of their children are now graduates facing the challenges of unemployment in the senatorial district.
In his remarks at the meeting, the leader of ACOMORAN, Comrade Ojo Aluko promised to deliver 6,000 bloc votes for PDP in Ona-ara local government.
“this is your time, we have align with your ambition since 2011, Anfani for all remain a mantra we hold dearly. We urge you to pen our association down for great empowerment and other dividends of democracy at all levels”
Equally, the coalition of Artisan and traders in Ona-ara, which comprises; NAPPMED, NSPT, ASGAS, MATFAW, LECAN, TORS, Battery Charger, Fish sellers, Vulcanizer, WERIAN, Spare parts, CAFA (Tiles), Shoe Makers, NUT(tailors) also drummed support for Chief Bisi Ilaka’s ambition, through one of their leaders Comrade Dayo Adebisi who maintained support and solidarity for Oyo born lawyer turned politician Ilaka and all other PDP candidates as undisputed. He noted that “Ilaka’s commitment and readiness to provide quality representation to the people of Oyo Central senatorial district as well as his promise to be accessible formed the basis of our support for him”.
Comrade Adebisi speaking further said”
“We will ensure that our members cast their votes for Chief Bisi Ilaka and other PDP candidates on the day of elections. This is because if you come to the market, all the local government areas and senatorial zones are represented and we know our numbers”.
Earlier in his speech, the Director-general of Bisi Ilaka campaign organization, Honorable Oladejo Success urged the groups not to separate their votes, he charged them to cast their ballots for all PDP candidates across board so as to witness quality representation and good governance that we all deserved, noting that from time PDP remains a strong and formidable Party to beat.
Ajao Adurodekun a PDP leader,on behalf of leaders in Ona-ara and Egbeda federal constituency urged the artisan and other traders not to fall for lies and propaganda of the opposition Party in the state while assuring them of great development and dividends of democracy from Bisi Ilaka and other PDP candidates.
In his remarks, Chief Bisi Ilaka lauded the associations for their support, he assured them that he will not let them down, as he will work assiduously at the Senate to ensure a better life for residents of Oyo Central.
He promised to support their needs on empowerment, employment, Loans and scholarship for members and presentations of bills that will provide special recognition for them, when he gets to the Red Chambers.
