Olunloyo Appoints Ex-Oyo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jelili Adeleke as Oyo Central Senatorial Campaign DG
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Engr. Ayobami Akinyode Olunloyo, has appointed former Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jelili Adeleke, as Director-General of his Senatorial Campaign Council.
The appointment was contained in a press statement personally signed by Engr. Olunloyo and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Rt. Hon. Adeleke, a seasoned lawmaker and grassroots mobilizer from Akinyele Local Government Area, was chosen based on his antecedents, enviable track record in public service and his fatherly role in stabilizing the party across Oyo Central.
Rt. Hon. Adeleke served as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2003 and was re-elected for a second term in 2007, where he rose to become Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. He remains one of the most respected and popular political figures in Akinyele and Oyo Central at large.
Engr. Olunloyo described Adeleke as a loyal, committed and dedicated party man who has always stood with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Rt. Hon. Jelili Adeleke is a leader with proven capacity, experience and deep connection with the grassroots. His appointment is strategic. We trust in his ability to lead our campaign to victory,” the statement read.
The statement added that the former Deputy Speaker will coordinate all campaign activities, mobilization and strategic engagement across the 11 local government areas that make up Oyo Central Senatorial District.
In his acceptance, Rt. Hon. Adeleke thanked Engr. Olunloyo and the leadership of the PDP in Oyo Central for the confidence reposed in him, promising to work tirelessly with all stakeholders to ensure victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
