1. 2023: My opponents have no integrity – Tinubu

The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate for next year’s presidential election, Bola Tinubu says his opponents in other parties have no integrity.

Tinubu disclosed this on Tuesday in Calabar, Cross River State, during a town hall meeting with stakeholders of the APC.

He said he was confident that the APC will win all elections next year, while telling the cheering crowd that he has all it takes to win and rule the country.

2. Refusal to pay ransom: 10 soldiers killed, 213 terrorists neutralised in Zamfara

Ten soldiers have been confirmed dead, while the bodies of 213 terrorists/bandits were recovered, in a battle between troops of the Nigerian Army, backed by fighter aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, and terrorists in some Zamfara communities.

Military sources disclosed that aside from the soldiers killed, an unspecified number of civilians were killed, particularly by the terrorists, who felt they provided information to troops. Recall that the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji also eliminated scores of terrorists in Malele Village of Dansadau Local Government Area of Zamfara State during the onslaught which began on Saturday.

3. National Assembly To Pass 2023 Budget On Thursday

The National Assembly is set to pass the 2023 Appropriation Bill into law on Thursday before embarking on Christmas break.

Egalitarian News reports that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, made this known on Tuesday while speaking with State House Correspondents.

Gbajabimaila had earlier met with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

4. Obasanjo, Atiku Punished Me And Still Could Not Provide Kilowatt To Roast A Corn – Tinubu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has alleged that former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, and his vice Atiku Abubakar, punished him for being in opposition to their mismanagement of the nation’s power sector.

Egalitarian News reports that Tinubu while answering questions at a town hall meeting held in Calabar, the capital of Cross River on Tuesday, accused Obasanjo and Atiku of spending $16.5 billion on the power sector without any result.

Tinubu maintained that PDP under Obasanjo and Atiku failed to provide electricity for Nigerians, urging Nigerians not to vote for the party in 2023.

5. CBN Unveils Security Features Of New Naira Notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released the security features of the new Naira notes.

Egalitarian News reports that Nigerians have been asking a series of questions following the rollout of new naira notes with the consent of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The bank’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has as well defended the cause of the Naira redesign in different publications and interviews.

However, in a bid to protect Nigerians from falling victim to counterfeiters, the apex bank on Tuesday unveiled details and position of the security features in the new naira notes.

6. President Muhammadu Buhari and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, held a closed-door meeting on Tuesday, discussing the cash withdrawal limits recently introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). This followed the inability of the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele to honour an invitation by the House of Reps.

7. Operatives of the Kano State Hisbah Board have apprehended 19 youths at a popular event centre for engaging in same-sex marriage. The youths in their early twenties were said to have gathered to witness the wedding of two suspected homosexuals, Abba and Mujahid.

8. Despite criticisms trailing her nomination, the Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of the President’s Special Assistant on New Media, Lauretta Ifeanyi-Onochie as the substantive Chairman of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

9. The Senate on Tuesday began probing the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation over the N978billion it allegedly received from the Service Wide Votes (SWV), between 2017 and 2021. The said N978billion comprises both capital and recurrent expenditures which were said to have been disbursed by the AGF’s office to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
