3. APC Inherited Insecurity, Critics Of President Buhari Not Fair – APC Chieftain Declares

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) has risen to defend President Muhammadu Buhari saying that all his critics concerning the state of insecurity in the country are not being fair to his administration.

According to the Director of contact and mobilisation for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council for the North West, Aminu Sani Jaji, the APC deserved reelection by Nigerians because the party under President Buhari has tried in the area of securing the country.

Egalitarian Voice News gathered that Jaji, who is a former lawmaker told pressmen in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, during a press briefing that the APC inherited the insecurity situation in the country, therefore any insinuation that insurgency and insecurity started under President Buhari’s administration won’t be fair to him.

Jaji submitted that the responsibility of securing lives and properties is a duty of all, including the opposition parties.

Jaji, while canvassing support for the APC said Nigerians had quickly forgotten that the discovery of oil in Gombe State was achieved during President Buhari’s tenure which he said was another milestone achievement by the APC-led administration in the country.

He predicted that indication shows that the APC will run away with a landslide victory in the forthcoming general elections.

4. More Nigerians Would Be Thrown Under The Poverty Bus” – NLC Rejects CBN Naira Withdrawal Limit

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says the naira withdrawal limit recently announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria would bring more hardship to citizens of the country, particularly the masses.

The NLC through its president, Ayuba Wabba said the implementation of the policy is ill-timed because most rural areas do not have technological facilities to support transactions of such type of business activities.

He said some local government areas in some states at the moment do not even have functional banking services and have to rely heavily on cash transactions to carry out day-to-day business activities.

Wabba added that the business of Point of Sales (POS) operators who rely on it for survival is also threatened.

Egalitarian Voice News recalls the CBN had initially announced a limit of N100,000 per week for individual cash withdrawals and N500,000 ceiling for corporate cash withdrawals but following major outcries, the apex bank reviewed the limit to N500,000 and N5 million for individuals and organizations respectively.

While acknowledging the fact that the policy is targeted at stopping those manipulating the system for money laundering, it has become a case of trying to kill a fly with a machine gun.

The NLC president, therefore, called for a total review of the policy.

However, fresh information suggests Wike Buha supporting Tinubu of the APC, which will make the 2023 presidency a bigger up-hill challenge for Atiku and the PDP.
