The Defence Headquarters has said that 15 military personnel were killed during a communal clash in Delta State.
Egalitarian Voice reports that personnel consist of two Majors, one Captain, and 12 soldiers.
They were said to have met their deaths on Thursday while responding to a distress call during a clash between Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State.
According to a statement issued today by the Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the troops were on a peace mission to Okuoma community in Bomadi Local Government Area when they were attacked and killed by some community youths.
He further revealed that the Commanding Officer who led the reinforcement team was among those killed in the clash.
