The Association of Oyo State Tutorial Owners (AOSTO), the body representing tutorial centre owners in Oyo State under the national leadership of the Association of Certified Tutors of Nigeria (ACTON), wishes to formally dissociate itself from the publication titled “Oyo Tutorial Centre Owners/Operators/Tutors Raise Alarm: Makinde Government Accused of Imposing Heavy Registration Tax Burden on Educational Support Businesses.”

AOSTO clarifies that the publication pushed by a faceless DBB does not represent its official position neither does it emanate from the AOSTO desk nor collective resolution or authorised communication. Therefore, its contents should not be attributed to the Association of Oyo State Tutorial Owners (AOSTO) or presented as the collective voice of tutorial centre owners in Oyo State.
While AOSTO recognises the importance of addressing concerns relating to cumbersome registration and the regulation of tutorial centres, the Association believes that such matters should be approached through constructive dialogue, verified information and appropriate engagement with relevant government authorities.
AOSTO remains committed to responsible representation, professionalism, constructive government engagement and compliance with applicable regulations. Our priority is to promote quality education, uphold professional standards and strengthen the contribution of tutorial centres to educational development in Oyo State.
Once again, while we commend the readiness of the Oyo state ministry of education to work in synergy with Oyo tutoria schools as to achieve quality educations and outstabding results students in the state deserve, AOSTO dissociates itself from the aforementioned publication and reaffirms its commitment to a responsible, lawful and constructive approach to addressing issues affecting the tutorial sector.
