‘AK-47 Fire’: Edo APC Chairman, Tenebe Threatens Opponents Over Tinubu’s 2.5 Million Votes Target

The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emperor Jarret Tenebe, has sparked controversy after threatening that those who attempt to obstruct the party’s plan to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general election would face “AK-47 fire.”
Tenebe made the declaration at a recent political gathering, where he reaffirmed the party’s commitment to achieving the ambitious electoral target set for the President.
The APC chairman argued that the number of votes a State delivers to the Federal Government could influence its development prospects, including the creation of additional Local Government Areas and States.
He insisted that party members must intensify their political mobilisation efforts to meet the 2.5 million-vote target, dismissing criticism from opposition supporters and social media commentators who had questioned the feasibility of the promise.
“When the governor made a promise to Mr President that they would deliver 2.5 million votes, our haters, the opposition people, the social media politicians entered social media and started asking where those kinds of votes would come from in Edo State,” Tenebe said.
He claimed that the governor had previously proved critics wrong by mobilising 2,156,800 votes for the party, attributing the alleged achievement to the commitment of APC members and supporters.
“What we are trying to achieve now is the 2.5 million votes,” he declared.
Tenebe further argued that delivering the votes was crucial to securing more development opportunities for Edo State, claiming that higher electoral support could strengthen the State’s prospects of attracting federal attention and resources.
He credited Tinubu with the potential creation of additional Local Government areas in the State, urging party members to work harder to secure the proposed votes.
“The only person that can create local government for us is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If it is that alone, we will not sleep. We will work hard and make sure those votes are turned out for Mr President,” he said.
However, the APC chairman’s remarks took a threatening turn when he addressed individuals and groups he accused of seeking to frustrate the party’s political ambitions.
“Those who do not wish us well, who want to create obstacles for us, I have a prayer for you… AK-47 fire!” Tenebe declared.
