Dr. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye (AAA) is an accomplished scholar, distinguished leader, philanthropist, and people-oriented public servant with a deep passion for community development and inclusive governance. She is widely known for her commitment to empowering women and youth, fostering sustainable development, and improving livelihoods across her constituency.

Early Life and Background

Dr. Adejoke was born into the illustrious family of late Chief Aderoju Ayoade Adekanmbi of Kure Compound, Ojaba—Ashipa Maiyegun of Ibadan Land (1978–1989)—and late Deaconess Lydia Aduke Adekanmbi of Ile Kutayi, Aremo, and Agbo Ile Agate in Oje, Ibadan.

Her father was a renowned philanthropist, businessman, and community builder who contributed to the development of Ibadan, including involvement in the construction of the historic Mapo Hall and the first Olubadan Palace. Educational Background

Dr. Adejoke began her education at The Polytechnic Staff School, Apete, before proceeding to St. Anne’s School, Molete, Ibadan, where she obtained her WAEC certificate.

 

She earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology from the University of Ibadan. Driven by a passion for problem-solving, she further obtained:

• A second degree in Mathematics from London Metropolitan University

• A Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Greenwich, UK

• A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos

She also holds several professional certifications across multiple disciplines.

Professional Career

Dr. Adejoke lived and worked in the United Kingdom from 1998 to 2017, where she held key roles in government institutions.

At the UK Department of Education, she contributed to policy reforms focused on improving teaching standards and student outcomes. She also worked as a Higher Executive Officer at the Department for Employment and Training, where she analyzed employment data and developed strategies linking job seekers with employers.

 

Notably, she pioneered the “Training for Work” initiative (1999–2000), which successfully trained and empowered over 1,000 unemployed individuals, including young people and single parents, helping them secure gainful employment.

 

She is currently the Managing Director of VJPD Consult, a training, recruitment, and outsourcing firm providing business advisory, capacity building, and development services both in Nigeria and internationally.

Her career reflects extensive expertise in education, research, leadership, policy development, and human capital advancement.

Political Involvement

Dr. Adejoke is a committed grassroots politician actively engaged in community mobilization, voter education, and policy advocacy. She was a Federal House of Representatives aspirant in the 2023 elections and enjoys strong grassroots support across Ibadan North East and South East.

 

Community Service and Impact

 

Through her NGO, Aderoju Ayoade Adekanmbi Foundation, she has led impactful initiatives since 2018, including:

• Free WAEC and NECO tutorial programs

• Provision of free water to communities (Ojagbo/Lanaseh axis)

• Vocational training for students and youths

• Business grants and startup support for women and young entrepreneurs

• Food and financial support for widows

• Agricultural training programs for youth, women, and retirees

• Health and financial awareness campaigns for market women and traders

• Support initiatives for transport workers (Okada and Maruwa riders)

Her interventions have consistently improved lives and strengthened community resilience.

Personal Life

Dr. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye is happily married to Barrister Sina Akinseye and is blessed with children.
