Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has said that the 2027 presidential election will be a “mere formality” for President Bola Tinubu.

Omokri stated that if God preserves Tinubu’s life, the President is already positioned for a decisive victory in the next general election.
He made the remarks in a post on his X handle while reacting to the large crowd that welcomed Tinubu during his visit to Bayelsa State on Friday.

According to him, Bayelsa State has seldom witnessed such a massive turnout since its creation on October 1, 1996.
He noted that only during the era of former President Goodluck Jonathan might such crowds have been seen, describing the recent turnout as massive and enthusiastic.

Omokri said the experience reshaped his perception of Bayelsa, which he previously assumed was a small state in both population and size.
He added that his visits to the state had now convinced him otherwise, especially given the scale of public mobilisation witnessed.

The diplomat further claimed that the level of support seen in Bayelsa reflects the broader political sentiment across the South-South region. According to him, similar patterns would play out nationwide, making the 2027 election largely predictable in favour of the President.
