A former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, has emerged as the new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Chief Adeyemo served as Deputy Governor between 2011 and 2019 under the administration of the late former Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, making him one of the longest-serving deputies in Oyo’s Fourth Republic history.
His emergence was formally announced at the party’s state congress held at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, by the Secretary of the APC Ad Hoc Zoning Committee, Mr. Afeez Bolaji.

Adeyemo’s emergence is seen by party stakeholders as a strategic move ahead of the 2027 general elections. As a seasoned administrator with executive experience and deep familiarity with the APC structure during its years in power, his leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in repositioning the party in Oyo State.

Political observers note that his selection may also signal efforts within the APC to consolidate experienced figures capable of stabilising internal blocs and strengthening grassroots mobilisation.
With the 2027 governorship race gradually taking shape, Adeyemo’s chairmanship places him at the centre of the party’s rebuilding process after its 2019 and 2023 electoral setbacks in the state.
