FCT Area Council Polls: Full Results of All Six Chairmanship Seats
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the results of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Chairmanship elections, with winners emerging across all six councils.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured five out of the six chairmanship positions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections.
In Bwari Area Council, APC candidate Joshua Ishaku won the chairmanship seat with 18,466 votes.
Also, APC’s Chris Garki won the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, chairmanship position.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s Kasim Mohammed won in Gwagwalada Area Council.
In the same vein, APC candidates – Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, Nuhu Daniel Kwali and Abdullahi Umar Abubakar won the chairmanship elections in Kuje, Kwali and Abaji area councils.
The elections reaffirmed APC’s dominance in the FCT, with only Gwagwalada Area Council going to the opposition PDP.

The elections were conducted across the six area councils amid tight security and active voter participation. Political observers described the exercise as keenly contested, with major political parties battling for grassroots control in the nation’s capital territory.
