Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi (BASA), renowned politician and founder of the BASA Foundation, has renewed her call for Nigerians to rise against the entrenched practice of money politics by prioritising the collection and use of their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
BASA, who is a leading voice in grassroots mobilisation, noted that Nigeria’s democratic progress has long been undermined by vote trading and financial inducements. According to her, the surest way to break this cycle is for citizens to embrace their civic responsibility and stand firm at the polls.
BASA and the 2027 Question for Oyo State
“We cannot continue to allow money politics to decide our future. The power is in our hands, and that power is the PVC. By bringing more voters into the system—voters who will not sell their conscience—we can finally put an end to this damaging culture,” she said.

In her message to Nigerians abroad, BASA urged the diaspora community to take up the responsibility of encouraging their loved ones at home to collect their PVCs and prepare to vote.
“Our brothers and sisters in the diaspora must give us tough love. Remind your people that the real change begins with their PVC. Every PVC is a weapon against corruption, injustice, and bad governance,” she added.

BASA, who has consistently campaigned for youth and women participation in politics, affirmed that her movement is anchored on integrity, people-driven leadership, and accountability. She stressed that no genuine transformation can happen unless Nigerians collectively reject inducements and embrace their civic duty.
