INEC Speaks Out: Here’s What You Need To Know About 2027 Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked claims that it has fixed a date for the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
The Commission also clarified that no official date has been announced for the commencement of processes related to the transfer or replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
In a statement issued on Sunday, May 4, by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Commission responded to a false report circulating online which claimed that INEC had scheduled May 27, 2025, for the resumption of CVR and other voter services.
INEC urged Nigerians to disregard the misleading information, emphasizing that the report was not from an official or credible source.
