The Commandant of Oyo State’s Amotekun security network, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju (Rtd), recounted a daring rescue operation in Iseyin Local Government Area. According to Olayanju, bandits attempted to abduct a woman in Abugaga by posing as customers.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Edmund Obilo, Olayanju said that some bandits tried to kidnap a woman in a place called Abugaga. He said the bandits pretended they wanted to buy a drink, but instead grabbed the woman.
Olayanju stated that the woman knew Amotekun officers were nearby, so she raised an alarm and her shout for help allowed his men to respond quickly. He said his men exchanged gunfire with the bandits who eventually fled the scene.

So when she raised alarm, because she knew my men were not far off, they were able come in. On seeing my men they had a gun duel and they fled”
