The Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Sanusi Musibau Adesina, popularly known as SHABA has bagged a prestigious award, having emerged as one of the best performing local government Chairman in Nigeria.The Merit Award entitled ‘Distinguished Local Government Chairman in Nigeria’, was presented to him, on Thursday, at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, by Rootswatch Magazine.
According to the Chief Editor of Rootswatch magazine and National Coordinator of Distinguished Local Government Chairmen Merit Award, Chief Bayode Ojo, the award recognizes the outstanding accomplishment and contributions of Hon. Musibau Adesina Sanusi(SHABA) on meaningful developmental projects executed for the benefit of his people at the grassroots.
He noted that out of all the chairmen being unveiled for the conferment of the award, SHABA passed the litmus test of accountable leadership.
Following the receipt, he dedicated the award to Almighty God, his principal, the executive governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, the PDP family in Ona-Ara LGA, and all the good people of Ona-Ara local government.
“I deeply appreciate this wonderful award and the leadership style of my Governor, which I try as much as possible to he emulate at the local government level,” SHABA stated.
The council boss, however, seized the opportunity to express his sincere appreciation to all residents of the Council for their support so far and solicited continuous support to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

On getting to Ibadan after receiving the award, Hon. Sanusi presented the award to Deputy Speaker of Oyo State, Rt. Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi, PDP Vice chairman Oyo Central, Hon Ogunremi, PDP Ona Ara Party Chairman, Hon Mosobalaje Bakare, Party Leader, Pa. Adurodekun and the CEO, Ilaji Hotel and Resorts, Engr. Dotun Sanusi. They all hailed the chairman for achieving these award based on his achievements and charges him to do more for the betterment of Ona-Ara residents.
Recall that, the council boss recently(May 1st, 2023) bagged OMOLUABI ROYAL ICON AWARD as AARE ATUNLUSE OMOLUABI OODUA AGBARA under the umbrella of Yoruba Council Of Youths Worldwide (YCYW National)
