9ja@63: BASA Felicitates; Sends Strong Message To Nigerians On INDEPENDENT DAY
I, former Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, presently the Chairperson of Atikulated Global Movement (AGM) Hon (Mrs) Bolanle Amina Sarumi GCMW/ VHPP politically addressed as BASA extend warm greetings to you as our nation celebrates her Sixty-three years of Independence today 1st of October, 2023.
It is without question that October 1, 1960 represented a watershed moment in our history. That historic date was the sum total of the contribution of our forebears to nation-building occasioned by their passionate belief that Nigerians deserved the freedom to determine their own internal affairs and destiny, as individuals and as an independent country.
In 1960, our founding fathers secured our freedom from colonial rule and bequeathed to us a country with great potentials and high hopes.
Each of us, however, has a duty to build the bright and prosperous Nigeria of which we dream and so I encourage you today to:
– Embrace positive values which will strengthen our nation, our families and communities in particular. Let us redouble our efforts to transform the lives of our people and so end the downward drift of our youth.
– Urgently join forces against the crime and violence which stalk our land. Believe that we shall prevail and overcome! Let us end the culture of silence and help bring perpetrators to justice.
– Restrain the corruption which undermines our development and threatens social stability.
Every member of every community must assume these responsibility right now because we have all it takes to build a developed nation that is admired by friends, feared by enemies and respected by all.
Let me also use this occasion to celebrate the great Unifier in Nigeria politics, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar GCON, the presidential candidate of our great Party (PDP) as we await victory at supreme court soonest. VICTORY IS NEAR! NEW NIGERIA IS POSSIBLE.
Hon (Mrs) Bolanle Amina Sarumi Aliyu (BASA), GCMW/VHPP
