2034 World Cup: FIFA Announces Host Country
Saudi Arabia has been confirmed as the host of the 2034 The Fédération Internationale de Football Association Men’s World Cup.
The Middle Eastern country, which was the only bidder for the tournament, was officially awarded the hosting rights during an extraordinary FIFA Congress on Wednesday.
FIFA members voted in a combined process that included decisions on the 2030 and 2034 tournaments.
The vote required members to approve both the joint hosting of the 2030 World Cup and Saudi Arabia’s bid for 2034, with no option to vote on them separately.
For the 2030 World Cup, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will serve as the primary hosts, while Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay will each host one match to mark 100 years of the competition.
