2027 General Elections: APM Unveils Official Timetable, Releases Nomination and Expression of Interest Fees for All Offices

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has officially released its timetable for the 2027 general elections alongside the nomination fees for various elective positions, setting the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive political season.

According to the party’s announcement, aspirants seeking elective offices under its platform will be required to purchase nomination forms at different price points depending on the level of office they intend to contest.

The breakdown of the fees shows that State House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦2 million, while those contesting for seats in the House of Representatives are expected to pay ₦5 million. Senate aspirants will pay ₦8 million, while governorship hopefuls will be required to pay ₦25 million. At the highest level, presidential aspirants will pay ₦35 million for nomination forms.

Party officials explained that the timetable and fee structure are part of efforts to streamline the electoral process and ensure adequate funding for party administration and campaign logistics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement has already generated discussions among political stakeholders and aspirants, with many describing the fees as a significant factor that could influence participation, especially among younger and less financially-empowered politicians.

Observers note that political parties across the country continue to adjust nomination costs in line with rising electoral expenses, a trend that has remained a subject of debate regarding inclusiveness and accessibility in Nigeria’s democratic process.

As preparations for 2027 intensify, attention is now shifting toward party primaries, internal contests, and alliances that are expected to shape the next electoral cycle.
