The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi-Aliyu, popularly known as BASA, has been listed among the final candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
BASA’s name reportedly appears as Number 34 on the final list of candidates for the 2027 elections.
Reacting to the development, BASA expressed appreciation to God for the journey so far, while also thanking PDP leaders, party members, supporters and other stakeholders who have continued to support her senatorial ambition.

In a statement, she said the development was a moment of gratitude, acknowledging the prayers, encouragement and confidence of those who have stood by her.
“God, I am truly grateful! Thank You for bringing me this far,” BASA said.
She further appreciated everyone who had believed in her, supported her political aspiration and continued to pray for her, stressing that the journey was bigger than her individual ambition.

According to her, she does not take the trust and support of the people for granted, as she remains committed to the journey ahead.
BASA also reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive representation, promising to ensure that the interests and aspirations of constituents across the Oyo South Senatorial District receive attention.
She called for continued support and unity as the 2027 political activities gather momentum.
