As the world marks World Teachers’ Day 2025, renowned philanthropist and political leader, Hon. (Mrs.) Bolanle Aminat Sarumi (BASA), has celebrated teachers across Oyo State, describing them as the foundation of nation building and the true custodians of knowledge.

In a goodwill message made available to the media, Hon. BASA expressed heartfelt appreciation to all educators who continue to inspire, mentor, and nurture future leaders through their dedication, passion, and resilience.
“Teachers are the silent heroes who shape the destiny of nations. Through their patience, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, they lay the foundation for progress and human development,” she said.
“Today, I join the world in celebrating every teacher in Oyo State and beyond. You are the light that brightens the path of every learner and the bridge between ignorance and understanding.”
Hon. BASA noted that the teaching profession remains one of the most honorable and impactful callings in human society, emphasizing that no nation can rise beyond the quality of its teachers.
“The story of every successful individual begins with the effort of a teacher. Their influence is timeless, and their impact reaches far beyond the classroom,” she added. As the world celebrates educators on October 5, Hon. BASA called for more recognition, respect, and support for teachers, urging government, private institutions, and communities to prioritize their welfare and continuous development.
“Let us value and empower our teachers. They are the heartbeat of every society and the builders of a brighter, more knowledgeable generation,” she concluded.
