The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for significantly enhancing Abuja’s infrastructure.
Wike made the remarks on Saturday during an inspection of various ongoing development projects across the territory. He emphasized that claims of non-performance by the president could only come from individuals who choose to ignore obvious progress or are simply blind to the transformation taking place.
Highlighting a range of completed and near-complete initiatives scheduled to mark Tinubu’s second year in office, Wike revealed that the commissioning ceremonies would span at least two weeks.

He stated, “President Tinubu has delivered world-class infrastructure to Abuja. Everyone can clearly see the positive changes. We are grateful for the effective leadership that has allowed the delivery of democratic dividends to Abuja residents. It’s hard to understand why anyone would claim he hasn’t done well — unless they’re deliberately ignoring the facts.
“By next week, we’ll unveil the full list of projects set for commissioning during the second anniversary. Among them are the Gishiri Interchange, the OSEX to Wassa Junction project, the International Conference Centre upgrade, and the N5 road. Numerous roads within both satellite towns and the city will also be inaugurated, along with the Abuja Greater Water project. In total, we’re looking at a two-week commissioning exercise.”
Wike concluded by stressing the importance of leadership, saying, “We are happiest when citizens are satisfied. Ultimately, our work is for the people. As I’ve always said, good leadership makes all the difference.”
