The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has denied knowledge of any Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention slated to hold in Ibadan.
Speaking during a live interview on Channels Television on Tuesday evening, closely monitored by Egalitarian Voice correspondent, Wisdom Darasimi, Wike insisted he was unaware of the development.

“I don’t know of any PDP convention taking place in Ibadan. PDP belongs to me,” the FCT Minister said bluntly.

His remarks come at a time when preparations are already underway, with a committee reportedly set up to organise the incoming convention.
Wike’s statement has since triggered fresh debates within the PDP, as political observers weigh how his claims of ‘ownership’ may affect the party’s cohesion ahead of the exercise.
