When Political Envy Writes: Makinde’s Legacy And Don’s Credibility Shatter Opposition Lies || Aderibigbe Yisahu

In recent days, some self-appointed political commentators have attempted to distort reality with a cocktail of half-truths, deliberate misrepresentations, and uninformed insinuations.

One such attempt is the ill-conceived opinion piece titled “The Dundee DON Deal And Makinde’s Dance On The Tombs Of The Dead”.

It is important to set the record straight for the good people of Oyo State and Ibadan North Federal Constituency who know the truth and have lived the Makinde transformation story.

The article seeks to twist Governor Makinde’s noble act of immortalizing the late Hon. Prince Olaide Adewale Akinremi “Jagaban” into something culturally offensive.

This is laughable at best, and malicious at worst.

In Yoruba culture, honouring the dead is a mark of respect, not desecration.

The naming of the Samonda GRA after the late Jagaban was an eternal recognition of his service and legacy a gesture welcomed by his family, political associates, and constituents.

Only a warped political mind would see this as an insult.

Good governance does not operate on the timetable of bitter politicians.

Governor Makinde has consistently demonstrated empathy and inclusivity, from rebuilding schools to constructing roads, upgrading health facilities, and providing economic stimulus to thousands of traders and artisans.

His decision to honour Jagaban was timely, sincere, and devoid of the bitterness his critics project.

The falsehood about “poor governance” collapses under the weight of facts

Those who label Don as “invisible” are either wilfully blind or politically dishonest.

Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle is:

A grassroots mobiliser with years of community development projects in Ibadan North, A philanthropist whose interventions in education, youth empowerment, and health predate his candidacy, A credible and humble leader, well-known among ward leaders, artisans, students, and religious bodies.

Debates are not the only measure of public engagement; impact on the ground speaks louder than empty rhetoric on a podium. Dont’s track record speaks volumes, and his people know it.

Governor Seyi Makinde is not “desperate”, he is delivering.

The Oyo State people, guided by both the will of God and their lived experiences, know that under Makinde, Oyo has moved forward.

The PDP has presented Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don, a candidate who mirrors Makinde’s humility, competence, and vision for a better Ibadan North.

The August 16 by-election is not about noise-making columnists seeking relevance; it is about consolidating progress.

On that day, the good people of Ibadan North will vote PDP, not out of sentiment, but because they have seen the difference, they feel the impact, and they trust the future.
