Former Director-General of the Liaison Office (Abuja & Lagos), Hon. Wale Ajani, has sparked political controversy in Oyo State following critical remarks he made about Governor Seyi Makinde in a widely circulated video sighted by Egalitarian Voice.

In the video, Hon. Ajani openly described Governor Makinde as a “stubborn” leader who, according to him, does not listen to advice or opposing views. He further alleged that the Oyo State governor is known for taking revenge against perceived political opponents, a claim that has since generated reactions across political and public spaces.

Speaking candidly, the former liaison office boss also accused Governor Makinde and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike of allegedly undermining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections for personal political interests.

“Makinde and Wike destroyed the PDP for their own gain in 2023. I had to move forward,” Hon. Ajani stated in the video.

Hon. Ajani, who was formerly a key stakeholder within the PDP structure, used the opportunity to explain the circumstances that led to his exit from the party. He revealed that his decision to join the Accord Party was influenced by ongoing political realignments in Oyo State and what he described as dissatisfaction with the internal leadership and direction of the PDP.

According to him, remaining in a political structure that no longer reflects fairness, internal democracy, and collective interest was no longer sustainable, hence his resolve to align with a new political platform ahead of future engagements.

His comments have continued to generate debate among party loyalists, political observers, and members of the public, particularly as Oyo State gradually witnesses renewed political activities ahead of the next electoral cycle.
