Video: Oyo Amotekun Patrol Van Razed by Fire in Ibadan
A patrol van belonging to the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed AMOTEKUN, was on Thursday morning destroyed by fire at Mokola, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Egalitarian Voice reports.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. beneath the Mokola flyover when the vehicle, conveying operatives of the corps on an operation, suddenly went up in flames.
Eyewitnesses said passersby and motorists tried desperately to extinguish the fire, but the van was already engulfed before the Oyo State Fire Service arrived at the scene.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded, though the vehicle was completely burnt beyond repair.
As of press time, the cause of the fire had not been determined.
